Before you send your music
Service & privacy.
Second Ear is a personal singing-feedback service from Danny Gutierrez. Questions? Email Danny.
Your review
Each order covers one singing recording of up to five minutes, for a soloist, ensemble, or choir. You receive at least ten minutes of recorded audio feedback, including commentary alongside your singing and additional feedback afterward. For choirs and ensembles, the Conference review covers one recording of up to 12 minutes, with at least 20 minutes of recorded feedback.
Standard is $25 for 3–5 business days; Priority is $40 for 1–2 business days; Express is $50 within 24 hours; Conference is $90 for 5–7 business days. Timing starts after successful payment. Business days are Monday–Friday, and Express includes weekends. All prices are in US dollars. Each order is a single payment, with no subscription.
Gifts and review packs
A gift is a code for one review of your choice; a review pack is 3 codes, each for one Standard review, for $65. Each code pays for one order, for the review it was bought for, and doesn’t expire. The turnaround starts when the recording is sent. The buyer can ask for a refund of any unused code; once refunded, the code no longer works.
Cancellations and problems
For a full refund, contact Danny to cancel before work on your feedback begins. After work begins, contact Danny about any problem with your order so it can be reviewed individually. Include your recording title and the email address used for your submission.
Your recordings stay private
Your singing recordings, sheet music, feedback request, and email address are used to prepare and deliver your review. Uploads are not listed publicly. Only Danny can access the private studio.
Stripe processes payments on its secure checkout page; Second Ear does not receive your full card number. The website stores your submission and feedback, and sends order and delivery emails through Resend. A necessary browser cookie lets you return to your submission without creating an account. Visits to the website are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you. The order page also counts how many times it is opened each day, as a number only.
If you upload a recording but don’t finish checkout, you get one reminder email at the address you entered, about a day later, with a link to finish your order. That is the only reminder, and Second Ear sends no marketing email.
Your feedback email contains a private listening link. Anyone with that link can play the delivered feedback, so share it only with people you choose. The link does not grant access to the studio or other submissions.
You can request deletion of your recordings, sheet music, and feedback by emailing Danny from the address used for your order. Payment records may remain with Stripe. Deleting a delivered recording makes its listening link unavailable.
Practice grading feedback
Sight-singing practice is analyzed on your device. If you answer the key-signature questions out loud, your browser’s speech recognition turns those few seconds into words (Chrome uses Google’s service, Safari uses Apple’s); Second Ear does not record or keep them, and you can tap your answers instead. If you send grading feedback, Second Ear saves your measure comments, printed exercise, and grading details privately for Danny to review. Your voice recording is included only if you check “Include my recording.” These reports are used to review and improve practice grading. Danny receives an email notification with a link to the private report; submitted recordings are not listed publicly.
Permission to share
Submit only recordings and sheet music you have permission to share for private feedback, including permission for the people recorded. A parent, guardian or teacher can order for a student singer with their own email address; the listening link is sent to that address. Sheet music is optional. If a file will not upload, contact Danny before paying.
